What is Zwierzogranie?

Zwierzogranie is Łukasz Litewka’s own project. He created it as a big, nationwide campaign of the #TeamLitewka Foundation, inspired by the idea of the Wielka Orkiestra Świątecznej Pomocy (the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity, Poland’s biggest charity).

The idea was simple: bring together, around a single day, people who really care about animals, and do something concrete for them together.

Thanks to the #TeamLitewka community and the foundation’s work all over Poland, Zwierzogranie had a chance from the very start to become something much bigger than a one-off event. That’s why we often simply called it “a WOŚP for animals”.

The first edition

The first Zwierzogranie took place on 18 May 2025 in Sosnowiec.

More than 10,000 people came, and another 100,000 followed the event online.

It was the first real test of an idea that, only shortly before, had existed mostly in Łukasz’s head. That day showed that there really are a great many people who want to do something good for animals.

“I was never angry at the animal world, but at the human world. I felt that every time I saw a dog on a rusty chain, or a ‘family member’ who, instead of going on holiday in summer, got thrown out of a car window like rubbish nobody wanted.

I dream, and I’m not afraid to dream, of a world that will look completely different. But that world takes a huge amount of work from all of us, from the very beginning, from the ground up.

Through ZWIERZOGRANIE we want to take on, among other things, an educational mission on animal rights, and also the fight against animal homelessness in Poland. Together we can do it.”

— Łukasz Litewka

Zwierzogranie’s goals

We want Zwierzogranie to help animals not just during a single event. That’s why, from the start, we have focused on a few things:

  • speaking up for animal rights and reacting when they are violated,
  • educating children, teenagers and adults,
  • fighting animal homelessness,
  • raising money for concrete actions and help where it is needed.

This is what the first Zwierzogranie looked like.

AdoPsiak

AdoPsiak. About animals for the youngest.

How do we teach children empathy, responsibility and love for animals? Best through stories that stay with them for longer. That is why “AdoPsiak Biszkopt” was created — a book about Helenka and the dog adopted by her family, which introduces the youngest readers to adoption and caring for a four-legged friend in an accessible way.

Get to know their story! The book is also available as a free ebook and audiobook.

Zwierzopaczka

One group. One shelter. One concrete goal.

Sometimes what a shelter needs most is a new washing machine, a few insulated kennels or equipment that makes daily care for the animals easier. That is why we created Zwierzopaczka, our new nationwide campaign in which animal shelters and other animal care facilities indicate what they need, and groups of friends, families, coworkers and local communities join forces to help them get it together.

Because you don’t have to do everything on your own. All it takes is to gather your crew, choose a shelter and do something good for the animals in its care together.

Roblox game

The colourful world of Zwierzogranie

In the world of Zwierzogranie, every animal has its own story. Some have lost their home, others are still waiting for one. Your job is to find them, feed them, give them water, build a safe shelter and do everything you can so that in the end they go to someone who will take care of them.

If you like games such as The Sims or Tamagotchi, there’s a good chance you’ll love Zwierzogranie from the very first moment!

So what do you say? Shall we rescue some pups together?

Play on Roblox!

The Zwierzogranie game was made possible by funds raised during the 1st edition of ZWIERZOGRANIE, the Nationwide Orchestra for Animals organised by the #TeamLitewka Foundation.

About Łukasz Litewka

Who was Łukasz Litewka?

Łukasz was connected with Sosnowiec all his life. He started out in dirty Nikes, painting benches on his estate and doing things he simply thought needed doing. Over time the scale, the possibilities and the number of people around him changed, but he himself never stopped being that lad from the estate who, instead of just talking about a problem, preferred to try and solve it.

Over all those years you could see him in all kinds of situations. One day he was carrying a washing machine into someone’s flat, another he was loading pet food for a shelter into his car, or telling the story of someone hardly anyone had noticed before. Even when he became a member of parliament, he showed that a politician can simply be a person who helps.

23.04.2026

On 23 April 2026 he was tragically killed in an accident. He was 36. Today we miss his energy, his next ideas and that trademark “I’ll just leave this here”, after which something good very often started to happen.

“I’ll just leave this here”

#TeamLitewka

What began with painting benches grew, over a dozen or so years, into a social phenomenon. A community approaching hundreds of thousands of people from all over Poland gathered around Łukasz. #TeamLitewka isn’t one person, it’s everyone who has answered his call even once. Łukasz is no longer with us today, but #TeamLitewka has stayed. And we want to keep doing what he taught us over the years: not to walk past people and animals we can help.

Member of the Polish Sejm

When he became the youngest city councillor in Sosnowiec in 2014, politics didn’t change the way he worked. Four years later, residents re-elected him, and in 2023 he ran for the Sejm from the very last place on the Left’s list in the Katowice constituency.

40,579 votes

He won 40,579 votes and became a member of the Polish Sejm.

Even then he did a lot of things his own way. Instead of yet more photos of a politician, his election posters showed dogs waiting for adoption. Because for Łukasz, even an election campaign could be a chance to help someone.

Zwierzogranie

From the very beginning, Łukasz wanted Zwierzogranie to be a big, nationwide campaign that helps animals, supports the fight against homelessness and at the same time teaches people how to care for them wisely.

The first edition took place on 18 May 2025 in Sosnowiec and brought together thousands of people who care about the fate of animals. Soon afterwards Łukasz was already thinking about the next one. Zwierzogranie was one of the most important projects he started, and it remains one of our foundation’s most important activities.

A message from the Foundation

Hi, it’s #TeamLitewka here

If you were with us at the first edition of Zwierzogranie, first of all we want to thank you. It was thanks to you that the first edition showed how many people want to do something good for animals together.

After the first edition, Łukasz was already thinking about the next one. He wanted Zwierzogranie to grow, reach more places and help even more animals with every edition.

Zwierzogranie is here to stay. We will keep developing everything Łukasz started.
